Founded in 1985, The Trinity Literary Society continues to be an important centre for all literary activities in TCD. Winners of the 2016/17 Society of the Year Award, LitSoc holds at least one major event every week, in addition to regular writing workshops, book clubs, open readings, and guest speakers. We also have an extensive lending library in our society room, the Attic (Room 32 on the top floor of House 6). Stop by the Attic for coffee hours every day from noon to 3pm, with free tea, coffee and even biscuits, and plenty of comfy couches where you can read or chat. 12 to 1pm is reserved for quiet reading. On Wednesdays at 12pm, we hold Accessible Coffee Hours in room 4017 of the Arts Block.
Each year, LitSoc publishes a collection of our members’ creative writing in the society journal, The Attic. In Hilary Term, our annual week-long festival LitFest takes place, promoting literary culture all over campus.
Membership is €3. To partake of our bookish splendour, sign up at our fresher’s week stand, or call in to the LitSoc society room, the Attic, on the top floor of House 6, any weekday between 12 and 3. You can also check out our FAQ, or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
